Having worked for years within the rigid framework of larger companies we grew tired of the restrictions placed on us by the hierarchy. We believed we could do better and so Knights was born!

2010Knights Incorporated
After 13 years working his way up from Trainee to Area Director in the local property market, Mark Halsey knew he could offer a service to fill a gap in the market and so Knights Estate Agents is born.
2012New Contracts
Knights secure contracts with several local companies to fulfill their housing requirements.
2013New staff
Knights headhunt Ross Gardner; a Sales and Lettings expert with 10 years’ experience in showcasing and marketing of property. Ross Gardner and Mark Halsey enjoyed several years working together in previous employment and now form an unrivaled partnership.
2014Revised Strategy
Knights devise a revolutionary Lettings marketing strategy that simultaneously improves the quality of service and tenant provided to our clients: becoming the ‘go-to agent’.
2015New staff
Mark and Ross continue to grow the operation and our client base continues to expand as we receive many referrals from previous happy clients.
2016Agency Partnership
Knights secure the services of go6 media to further enhance their brand and digital marketing presence thus propelling themselves into the forefront of the property world.
2016Moved Office
Due to our expansive growth Knights have moved to a larger premises along Gatwick Road.

Having worked for an independent estate agent for 12 years (including six years at director level), I decided to set up Knights Estate Agents in 2010 because I felt that the rigid framework of a large company was not conducive to providing a professional and personal service and would also compromise my personal integrity. I observed that the layers of departments (especially in lettings; negotiators, managers, property management, accounts etc) would only serve to frustrate and sometimes baffle the client.

I began my career working for an independent property company in 1997 and over the years have been fortunate enough to build many good working relationships with corporate clients and relocation companies, which I still maintain today.

I strongly believed that with hard work and dedication that I could build a better business based on honesty, transparency, partnership and trust.  It’s been a great joy to see Knights grow over the past few years, I’m very passionate about what we do and I always will be.

At Knights Estate Agents we don’t cling to ‘Sales Gimmicks’ to try and get higher fees nor do we ask our clients to sign a restrictive sole agency contract (a unilateral agreement that only favours the agent and not the seller). We pride ourselves on having a straight-talking approach and our policy, when selling a property, is simple; if any of our clients are unhappy or feel they could be better off elsewhere, they are free to leave us, at any time, without penalty. So, we have to be as good as we say we are and ultimately produce results.

We offer competitive fee packages for both sellers and landlords and guarantee the personal attention of the directors (myself and Ross) which ensures a quality service and smooth communication plus a level of personal care and attention, which we believe is vital for today’s sellers and landlords. I’m an experienced, passionate property expert and business leader with the benefit of over 14 years experience in all aspects of Estate Agency. I began my career working for an independent agency covering Surrey & Sussex and over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to have gained an insight into all levels & facets of the housing market having sold and let all types of property from Studio apartments, through to Country Estates. I have built many strong relationships with clients and have worked with some well known corporate & celebrity clients over the years.

Having worked in sales and lettings for both independent and corporate companies at a senior level has given me a wealth of experience to call upon and a rare perspective on Estate Agency. Through this all-encompassing experience I am able to advise my clients on all their property needs with specific bespoke advice. Which, I am told, is a refreshing break from the usual ‘One size fits all approach’.

Estate Agency has evolved a great deal over the past 10 – 15 years with the internet now playing a central role in the marketing of homes with some property websites generating as many as 1 billion page views per month! The importance of a strong, intelligent marketing campaign cannot be overstated.

In the marketing and communication of property, I believe that a considered strategy founded on communication and quality over quantity will create positive outcomes, every time.
