Expert Property Advice

Is choosing a letting agent different from choosing a selling agent?

You might be thinking that there isn’t really that much difference between selling your property and renting it. Both involve advertising and then an agreement is reached with a buyer/tenant right?

Well, it isn’t quite that simple.

When selling; you cut your ties with the property; you move on and have no further involvement. The buyer must demonstrate their ability to buy the property and show a certain level of commitment in order to move through the process to completion

When letting; things are a little different, let us explain why….

When renting out your property; you will remain emotionally and financially committed throughout the process from beginning to end, the same applies if you take a commercial stance. Therefore; it is imperative that you take your time and select the right agent, for the right reasons, for your rental property because this is a long term relationship.

When letting with Knights Estate Agents you will deal with the Directors of the company Mark Halsey & Ross Gardner who have over 40 years combined experience in the local letting market. Uniquely Mark and Ross vet tenants at the point of enquiry, this means that everything you want & need is communicated directly and effectively; ensuring quality service and leaving no room for nasty surprises.

Another benefit this model gives our clients is powerful feedback from the market. We can tell our landlords how many enquiries we have had over a specified time period and what they were like; this takes away the race to get the property let to the first person that enquires and focuses on quality. We want to be sure that our landlords are provided with the best profile of tenant possible.

Ross is Director of Knights Estate Agents and has a wealth of industry knowledge.
